What to Expect
The Underwater Walk — also known as a Sea Walk — is one of Mauritius's most unique and accessible water experiences. Unlike scuba diving, there's no training or swimming ability required. Guests of all ages and swimming abilities can participate.
Wearing a specially designed pressurised helmet that maintains air at a comfortable level, you descend a short ladder into the warm, clear waters and walk gently on the sandy seabed. The world around you transforms — tropical fish, sea urchins, and vibrant coral formations surround you in a living aquarium.
The descent is gradual and completely safe, accompanied by a professional underwater guide at all times. Most guests are amazed by how natural and comfortable the experience feels — many describe it as one of the highlights of their entire Mauritius holiday.

No swimming ability is required. The underwater walk uses a pressurised helmet that keeps your head completely dry throughout the descent. You walk on the seabed rather than swimming.
The helmet is open at the bottom and you are always in a well-lit, open environment. However, if you have significant claustrophobia, we recommend discussing this with us before booking.
The sea walk is suitable for adults up to approximately 60 years. Guests with heart conditions, ear problems, or respiratory issues should consult their doctor before participating.
The descent is approximately 3–4 metres below the surface — deep enough to fully immerse you in the reef ecosystem while remaining safe and comfortable.
Yes — the sea walk site is located above a vibrant coral reef teeming with tropical fish, sea urchins, starfish and other marine life. Fish feeding is included to attract fish close to you.
